Got A Minute?

March 7, 2006

Praise GOD, the season is starting to change. Bright and sunny days in the 60's and 70's are giving everybody spring fever. Gardeners are toiling the soil and planting early crops More people are getting outside and walking and just enjoying the warm sun. Some are cleaning yards getting the landscape ready to cut grass and plan flowers. OH, just a busy time, so much to do and the weather is making it so easy to just get going. Meanwhile people are still lying in hospital beds, nursing homes, and shut in, not able to enjoy the coming of spring. Some never to plan a flower, cut their grass or even smell the flowers blooming again. They have little needs anymore, time is no issue, that's all they have. Their eyes failing, not able to read, arthritis making it hard to hold a book or turn on the radio. Time just passing, waiting for the end. Strange news letter huh?

Not really, it is the news we see all too often. People just wanting five or ten minutes of our time, need a prayer, encouraging word, read some scripture, hold a hand, just someone to talk to. BUT, everybody is just too busy, families don't come, friends sick or already gone. What about you, do you have just a few minutes to bless someone today?

Visit the hospital or nursing home near you and ask the staff "do you have someone that would like some company today?" and they will gladly show you someone in need. We are blessed with a Long Term Care Facility that we visit weekly and we get more blessed by visiting these wonderful people than we bless them. They become friends, brothers and sisters, grand paps and grannys. We see many receive CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR, many healed and we also see many go home to be with the LORD. But we get to see joy and peace in them for at least a few more minutes. YES, it is hard to see them go after getting so close with some of them but to know that they go to be with my JESUS makes the effort to be worthwhile. Got a FEW MINUTES, be a blessing to someone today and GOD will surely bless you.

This year has really been great. Sally and Glenda have seen many lives changed in Halifax County Jail. Several ladies have come out and received help from GOD's STORESHOUSE. Coastal Plain Rehab. has also been extremely great as GOD has moved in those services mightily. Odom Correctional Center is a very exciting place to be. Those men are having great bible studies and the Sunday services are just invigorating and I can't wait to get back and e with them. Pray for Chaplain Joe Johnson at Odom, he is doing a great job but needs our prayers.

GOD's STORESHOUSE has been even busier this year then before but GOD has really supplied the needs of many through it. Clothes are doing great but we always need food, small appliances and good bibles.

Bryan Long Term Care in Scotland Neck is just the greatest church anyone could ask for. The residents are awesome, the visitors are great, and the staff does an excellent job. The HOLY SPIRIT really moves in these services. This is on replace we always look forward to going.

Heather is busy preparing to sing at a Good Friday Service and she will be leading praise and worship for a youth revival in Robersonville soon. We are all excited and looking forward to what GOD has prepared for us to do.

Please contact us if we can help you in anyway and remember JESUS is the way, the truth, and the life and no man shall enter GOD but by HIM. JESUS said we must be born again to enter HEAVEN. How about you, are you ready and prepared to meet JESUS face to face that great and wonderful day? The price has been paid and GOD loves everyone and HE proved it all by the ultimate gift HE gave, JESUS, and HE is waiting for us to call on HIM. Please let us help you with this and you will never regret it. GOD Bless and we love you all

IN CHRIST SERVICE
